Underworld – Cherry Pie (Apollo 11 Remix) v1

October 42009

My first remix ever, using FL Studio (Fruity Loops). I had to cut it short for YouTube but it’s about 16 minutes long in full. I’m experimenting with effects for the first time, such as Fruity Vocoder and Fruity Parametric EQ 2. I’m still working on this and will be tweaking it more. A tribute to one of my favorite Electronic/Ambient songs, “Cherry Pie” by Underworld.

Update: The music sounds a little different on YouTube, compared to the mp3. On YouTube, the music sounds a little loud, distorted and messy. The mp3 sounds a lot cleaner, crisper and better.

Answer Your Own Question (all stars nail it first take)

October 42009

The one and only take recorded in the studio for the song “Answer Your Own Question” from Taylor Mesple’s “Victory Land” CD. Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums, Mel Brown on bass, Keith Rosenhagen on acoustic guitar, Taylor Mesple on organ and vocals. Tim Pierce later recorded the guitar solo as an overdub. We sync’ed up the video with the actual CD track because the camera mic picked up distorted sound in the control room. I may post alternate versions of audio with the same video in the future if there’s an interest for it, such as just the rhythm section. Filmed by Adrian DeSalvo (raw footage).

“stay crunchy” – messin with an e-piano sound

September 222009

buy this song: http://www.ronaldjenkees.com/2008/08/16/stay-crunchy-youtube-jam/

buy my first CD: http://www.ronaldjenkees.com/music-store

**second CD due in December

This is another one in the very early stages, but it’s fun to jam with. I messed with it quite a bit before I filmed, but each time it came out drastically different. LOL

I used FL Studio 8 and my Motif XS8 to make this one. The sound I’m using is actually an e-piano (patch is called “Drive EP AS1″ on the Motif XS series. I adjusted the distortion and delay to make it sound like it is.

Thanks again for watching and being a subscriber to my vids!!
