http://www.fillmorepedal.com This is a — S T E R E O — demo of the AMZ IC Muff distortion pedal that I built, designed by Jack Orman. I am playing the 1967 Gibson SG Custom guitar through a 1994 Crate Vintage Club 20 amplifier.

I built the IC Muff back in 1995 but yesterday I took it apart and heavily modified it, and put it in a new case. Mods include changing the op amp to a Fairchild LF353 and increasing the gain, and adding true bypass wiring with a footswitch. The LF353 gives it a much nicer sound though it breaks up more at high levels — which is A Good Thing in my opinion.

Keep an eye on the guitar knobs as I go through the demo I crank it up a couple times as the demo goes on.

Notice the 35 SECONDS SUSTAIN I can get one 1 note with this foot pedal. This pedal is not good for playing fast it is better for slow, lots of sustain, and to play with harmonics. Most of it I am playing with the rhythm pickup with the tone control all the way down. Then with the tone control on the guitar all the way up I switch to middle & treble pickup combination, and treble pickup only. It is easier to control the IC Muff using just the rhythm pickup with the tone control on the guitar turned down all the way. It can get those early Robert Fripp/King Crimson sounds or Queens of the Stone Age tone.

If you have a high speed internet connection click on this link instead. It will play the demo with better sound quality and picture quality:

I HOPE YOU LIKE IT.

As I am asked quite a few times per week if the RPs can produce some heavy distortions or sweet long sustaining solo tones I thought I make a video for you guys and girls that features a few of those presets. Again I didnt change a single parameter on none of the examples what you hear is what you get. I also used the poweramp in of an amplifier called “The Valve” which is a italian made 2×12 combo. But since I use the poweramp in the amps preamp is not in the signal chain…the RP is the preamp for all the the examples.

The setting on the Tubeking is Bass +3; Mid +5; High -2 (Tubeking has active eq); Gain 5; Level 6.5; and Noise gate off. Also, I replaced the stock tube with Tungsol 12ax7 but the stock tube sounded just fine.

The setting on the TBX is Bass 1; Mid 2; and High 0 and this too has an active eq. The gain nob is at 3 and level was around 6 on the clean channel without the over drive switch on.

I also used the zoom g2. 1u pedal but only to add slight delay.

Thought I’d put together a demo of the Blackstar HT-Dual. I tried this pedal out recently and fell in love with the tone from it. For a long time I’ve been looking for a way to get a Marshall-like distortion from my Fender Twin and this in my opinion is the closest thing to it. I love the Twin for its immaculate clean tone but I’ve always loved the Marshall crunch as it’s the quintessential rock sound!

I’ve read comments on the forums from people complaining about the fact this this pedal isn’t ‘pure’ valve distortion, apparently it’s more like Marshall Valvestate circuitry. I don’t know enough about this stuff, but I do know I like the sound of valve gear and this, for my money sounds great. I don’t care what’s inside it ’cause it sounds excellent!!!

Hope you like the demo folks,

To test various sounds of this guitar, at first, I played the opening of “Ain’t Life Grand” with rear pickup and changing tone from crunch to distorted with volume control. Next the riff of “Always On The Run” for rear pickup / distorted sound. Then I played “Only Woman Bleed” for clean tone with front piciup. And at last, I played “Paradise City” for rear-pickuped clean tone and distorted sound of both pickups.
There is no backing tracks. This is just a test for understanding new guitar’s tone.
