April 132010

Guitar Player Magazine calls the Fulltone Effects GT-500 Pedals ” …the most musical 2 in 1 distortion box…” With a F.E.T Hi-Gain Distortion and Overdrive Booster that can be set to go in either order via the “series switch” in the middle, this box is more than a simple 2-in-1. Played by Chris Boerner on a Stevenson Pop Classic Custom Future, through a Mojave Coyote Head into a Mojave 2×12 Cabinet. For more info check out www.soundpure.com …

AMZ IC Muff distortion pedal guitar effect Demo, I built it

April 72010

http://www.fillmorepedal.com This is a — S T E R E O — demo of the AMZ IC Muff distortion pedal that I built, designed by Jack Orman. I am playing the 1967 Gibson SG Custom guitar through a 1994 Crate Vintage Club 20 amplifier.

I built the IC Muff back in 1995 but yesterday I took it apart and heavily modified it, and put it in a new case. Mods include changing the op amp to a Fairchild LF353 and increasing the gain, and adding true bypass wiring with a footswitch. The LF353 gives it a much nicer sound though it breaks up more at high levels — which is A Good Thing in my opinion.

Keep an eye on the guitar knobs as I go through the demo I crank it up a couple times as the demo goes on.

Notice the 35 SECONDS SUSTAIN I can get one 1 note with this foot pedal. This pedal is not good for playing fast it is better for slow, lots of sustain, and to play with harmonics. Most of it I am playing with the rhythm pickup with the tone control all the way down. Then with the tone control on the guitar all the way up I switch to middle & treble pickup combination, and treble pickup only. It is easier to control the IC Muff using just the rhythm pickup with the tone control on the guitar turned down all the way. It can get those early Robert Fripp/King Crimson sounds or Queens of the Stone Age tone.

If you have a high speed internet connection click on this link instead. It will play the demo with better sound quality and picture quality:

MXR DD-11 Tribute Dime Distortion Pedal Video Demo

March 262010

http://www.tunnelvisionmusic.com/products/MXR_DD_11_Tribute_Dime_Distortion_Pedal-2653-0.html – When Dimebag Darrell of Pantera first exploded on the scene, he ushered in a new era of tone and attitude. When it comes to guitar, Dime doesn t need a warm or pretty sound. He can t be bothered with vintage this or boutique that. He wants a heavy, aggressive, razor-sharp tone that can slice through a loud band and a louder crowd. It s a tone that rages with distortion but remains tight and focused enough to keep up with lightening-fast rhythm lines and face-melting solos.

Finally there s a pedal that can deliver all that: the The Dime© Distortion from MXR. Crank the gain, boost the lows and highs, and hit the Scoop switch for a rhythm tone that will annihilate. Dial the mids back in and mow down the competition with a lead sound that can penetrate steel. If it still hasn t gotten heavy enough for you, stick the Dime in front of a distorted amp and experience sustain and sonic mayhem that s so over the top it should come with a warning label.

T Rex Alberta Overdrive and Distortion Effects Pedal Demo at Sound Pure Studios

March 52010

Alberta is quite unique; she makes your guitar sing.
She provides instant access to the kind of warm overdrive and emotive distortion usually reserved for 30-year-old tube amps. Alberta delivers a creamy, yet crunchy sound with a smooth mid-range boost, reminiscent of the old Ibanez TS-808.

Recorded with a Neumann U87 into a Great River Electronics MP-2NV and Coles 4038, into a Chandler TG2, and finally a Lynx Aurora 16 AD Converter
