how to fix a broken cassette tape adapter?
i have a cassette tape adapter so i can play my mp3 player in my car. when i went to use it in a friend’s car, it started skipping and now the sound is distorted even when used in my car. there is no visible damage, so i do not know what the problem is.
Maybe you should be upgrading your car stereo and get one that has a 1/8" Jack on the front. A direct connection like this will sound much cleaner then the inductive transfer using a Cassette adaptor.
Just buy a new one. They’re not that expensive. Finding the problem with it will be difficult.

You can try moving the cord so you can flip it over, or sometimes if you hit the button on the casette player that "changes sides" it will fix it.
That’s what worked for me
