Vox Satchurator Distortion Pedal
February 62010
http://www.ProGuitarShop.com – The Vox Satchurator Distortion Pedal – Drawing on Joe Satriani’s knowledge accumulated from decades of groundbreaking performances, both live and in the studio, VOX unveils a breakthrough in guitar tone — The Vox Satchurator distortion pedal. Designed to Satriani’s exact specifications. The Satchurator produces Satriani’s signature tone and adds new features and improvements never before combined in a distortion pedal.
After almost a year of painstaking experimentation and road testing, Satriani and the VOX R&D team discovered the secrets to capturing the ultimate distortion tone in a modern-day pedal. The Vox Satchurator Distortion Pedal is capable of very high gain levels, but operates more quietly and musically than other modern distortion pedals.
The Vox Satchurator Distortion Pedal also preserves the tone and pick-attack of the guitarist plugging into it, regardless of style, from subtly distorted blues tones through classic rock and shred. The result is a professional-quality pedal that recaptures sought-after vintage and modern sounds in a powerful, versatile and extremely musical pedal design.

I owned Satriani’s …
I owned Satriani’s Peavey JSX and it was strangely NOT LOUD at all!! I’d play on stage and had it cranked to 7!!! and it sounded like it was dying!
took it to an amp tech, he sent some machine through it and confirmed it was cranking out 120 watts. weird.

I have this pedal …
I have this pedal and I can only find one useful sound in it. Gain 3:00, Tone 10-11, Volume flat or a little more. The “more” is useless to me as it is just way too much gain and very muddy IMO

I’ve had this thing …
I’ve had this thing for a few months, and I like it. Ive gigged with it too and it’s worked flawlessly. As for the “boxed in” sound, he’s got the tone knob about where the manual says Satch has it. I use the tone between 10 oclock and 12. Crank the gain, and have a party. It really does clean up nicely when you turn the volume down on your guitar like it says in the manual.

the more switch …
the more switch basically boosts the high end for solos and stuff, i believe. so it’s not so much that it adds more than boosts the tone

One problem I’ve …
One problem I’ve found with this pedal. The high end will always be far clearer than the low end. And the low end will get much “tonier”. So, if you turn up the tone knob to get the clarity in the low end, the high end becomes too “trebbly”.
Make any sense?

it is not very hi …
it is not very hi gain, I had one, but it had a volume problem, and it’s very mosquito sounding, but I used it on a solid state, it may be different with tubes

if your running the …
if your running the gain quite low the ‘more’ switch will give a substantial gain boost, if your running the gain quite high, it’ll give a little boost, for solo’s, for example.

I am really …
I am really considering this pedal… Like within the next week. I was wondering if someone could reply to this comment and tell me about its little perks and quirks. FYI I play everything from blues to metal and back. Oh and a question. Does the “More” Overdrive it or just Distort or both or just add tone or what? Thanks in advanced. ~Raynosa~

I own this pedal …
I own this pedal since a few months, and I never set the tone knob higher than halfway… this pedal sounds incredible in the low tones in my opinon.

It’s really …
It’s really frustrating me that the tone is so far down for almost the whole demo. I think that probably contributes to the ‘boxed in sound’.
