Digitech RP255 Multieffect Processor – Distortion Sounds Only

This is a variation of the other video I uploaded a minute ago. As I am asked quite a few times per week if the RPs can produce some heavy distortions or sweet long sustaining solo tones I thought I make a video for you guys and girls that features a few of those presets. Again I didnt change a single parameter on none of the examples what you hear is what you get. I also used the poweramp in of an amplifier called “The Valve” which is a italian made 2×12 combo. But since I use the poweramp in the amps preamp is not in the signal chain…the RP is the preamp for all the the examples.

    I really didn’t …
I really didn’t know about it on the RP255. The RP355 does the same thing? Only the RP500 I could completely bypass the amps and speakers?

@djtannv Funny I answered this question a day or two ago but youtube didnt post it….the amp is a all tube amplifier made by The Valve and the speakers built-in are both celestion vintage 30s

@sobreviventeFCC I dont know if I have the time to do this video but honestly this is not making a lot of sense. If you want a pure effect unit you shouldnt go for the 255. Go for the 500 because there you can completely bypass the amps and speakers on the 255 you can only set them to zero which means the signal is still running through that section.

    Hello! Nice video, …
Hello! Nice video, congratulations! I’m thinking to buy this one only to use the effects (reverb, chorus, tremolo, phaser, flanger…). Could you make a video showing only the effects of RP255? Thanks!

We are discussing so I am not offended. I know what you are talking about but they have changed a few things going from the 250 to the 255. Maybe you hear the SM57 or the amps speaker as they are involved in the examples. You can optimize the sound for mixer or amp using that dipswitch in the back. Plus you can switch off the cab in the matrix. But after all even if there would be a cab sim on – if the sound is good…despite all these tech things sound is what matters in the end.

No hard feelings man I love your vids they are great

  11. to turn off cab sim …
to turn off cab sim you have to do it manually in the amp model it self

  12. @ralfjung and the …
@ralfjung and the cab sim stays on i owned that pedal once before i sold it when i ran it on amp out the cab sim still stayed on watch my video called in depth review of the rp 250 to see what i am talking about all the amp out does in the signal is it increases to treble to give it more prescence but i can here it in every preset you use the cab sim is still on not to sound offesive no hard feelings but i owned this pedal once and i know that cab sim stays on even when its on the amp out

    there is …

    @akaboo69
there is no cab simulation involved…the signal chain is guitar to RP255 then poweramp in on the combo (fx return) and then mic to the mixer

  14. @tony93666 sounds …
@tony93666 sounds like a plexi variac yeah hes using cab sim on the digtech threw an amp and it still sounds prescent these newer rps have a direct or amp out put when amp out put is engauged the cab sim stays on and the reble freqeuncy is increased and it sounds very prescent wich is cool about the new rps they can completely take over your tone amp and cab

  15. that BROWN preset …
that BROWN preset is perfect for 80s style metal, which kicks ass!
