playing whilst ripping. Also last 2 tracks of each CD will not rip and the re-writer is making a strange noise. However, the tracks it has managed to rip into the media player are playing ok. Have seen message pop up though saying "Insert volume WMSoft_ww"
Can anyone enlighten me – I’m frustrated by it all.
Machine was ok until I used it last night to sync music from media library into Sony mp3 player.
Mike D – I understand and agree, but cant understand why it wont rip the last 2 tracks on each CD. It’s done it for years – just stopped today!! Any ideas?

The distortion may be caused by the fact that the cpu is getting overtaxed with several processes, especially playing the CD through the sound card and ripping the CD. The CPU may not be able to handle both as it switches jobs. Is the sound normal when you are not ripping a CD?
Try shutting down other applications while ripping. You may have to not play music and rip at the same time.
