What’s gone wrong? When ripping music from my CDs into my computer, the sound is distorted when tracks are

January 302010

playing whilst ripping. Also last 2 tracks of each CD will not rip and the re-writer is making a strange noise. However, the tracks it has managed to rip into the media player are playing ok. Have seen message pop up though saying "Insert volume WMSoft_ww"
Can anyone enlighten me – I’m frustrated by it all.
Machine was ok until I used it last night to sync music from media library into Sony mp3 player.
Mike D – I understand and agree, but cant understand why it wont rip the last 2 tracks on each CD. It’s done it for years – just stopped today!! Any ideas?

The distortion may be caused by the fact that the cpu is getting overtaxed with several processes, especially playing the CD through the sound card and ripping the CD. The CPU may not be able to handle both as it switches jobs. Is the sound normal when you are not ripping a CD?

Try shutting down other applications while ripping. You may have to not play music and rip at the same time.

why does my SEMI- ACOUSTIC make a wierd kinda distortion/buzzing sound when i play the strings?

January 302010

well today, i got my guitar outta the case and i started playing it and noticed a wierd kinda distortion or buzzing type of sound, i wasn’t plugged in the amp btw, and the sound sounded like it was coming from the inside, please! if theres any solution, i bought this guitar for £500/$1000 its an epiphone casino hollow body.

Could be a brace came loose. This happens, but it should be fixed ASAP before permanent damage occurs. Normally a luthier/instrument tech can get at them without dissassembling the instrument using special mirrors, lights, clamps, and other tools that can be snaked through the soundholes.

How do you adjust the sound on a new Toshiba laptop that sounds tinny?

January 302010

I have had Toshiba laptops before and the sound has been great. This new one has tinny sounding sound, perhaps somewhat distorted. What settings can I use to remedy this? Thanks.

I also have issue with laptop. I posted my problems on wish123 and got an excellent advise from an expert. I highly recommend the website!

Michael Kent – Broken Glass Bottle Trick (ouch!!)

January 272010

A little video clip I took of a magician doing a broken glass bottle trick. Unfortunately, things are unpredictable at times, how much, well watch and find out! Find his website at http://www.michaelkentlive.com/

*Note*

Excuse the bad auido quality, was taken with a camera made for pictures, not video. Microphone is located on front, so close proximity sounds coming from the rear are distorted/sound really off….

Ours – Miseryhead (from album Distorted lullabies)

January 272010

Track number 05 from the album Distorted Lullabies. Wonderful composition by Jimmy Gnecco, lead vocalist and guitarrist of the band.

christ, your head. what’s it become?
while the whole world’s out having fun

i’m in a cloud, it’s pulling me down, breaking me down

i’m in a cloud, it feels like a crowd of a hundred, it’s five degrees here
nobody sees, somebody please, save me

this is the sound of my miseryhead
choke on the taste of my miseryhead
dance to the words of my miseryhead
this is the sound of my miseryhead

i’m in a cloud, it’s pulling me down, breaking me down

turn around
what’s that sound?
i’m in your head
i thought i heard him say, he’d rather be dead, than
live life apart…we’re apart…we’re apart

[chorus]

How to prevent static-y/scratchy/distorted sounds from affecting songs that I want to burn in a blank CD-R?

January 262010

I first tried burning a playlist that I had in iTunes a few days ago. I’ve never burned a CD using their feature before. On my first try, the songs were so absolutely horrible. Everything sounded scratched up or like there was white noise and/or static in the background and they were replacing the treble or bass. A friend of mine suggested lowering the speed, which I did to 2x. On my second try, it still sounded bad. In fact, it was worse.

I opened the files in Windows Media Player (where I have more experience) and burned the songs (with 2x burning speed) into a CD-R there. The first 7 songs sounded alright but the rest were just as horrible as my first two tries in iTunes.

Please help me. I’m at my wit’s end here. These songs are a gift that I have planned for my cousin. I’ve never had problems with my burner before. This is a first for me.

More details:
CD-R used are Memorex brand (52X|700MB/Mo|80min).
iTunes version is up to date (9.0+)
Computer hardware, software, firmware are up to date.
Songs are .mp3 files and downloaded from a third party site but are virus-free, spyware-free and play perfectly in both iTunes and WMP.

First off, make sure the cd is clean before burning. (Blow on it, you should see your breath on it then wave it around so it’s dry and clean)

Second make sure it’s a cd-r and not a cd-rw. Cd-rw sometimes cause distortion when they get near the end of their life.

Third Make sure the songs aren’t copyprotected (you can do this by righ clicking selecting properties if a tab called protection is listed go there, if not then it’s not copyprotected)

Fourth 2x is really slow, better suited for word documents and such (it will still burn cds no problem but in future consider using a faster disc like 48x)

Fifth check the quality of the .mp3, if it’s below 128kps then it will sound crappy. If it has prevoiusly been converted then it may appear to be 128kps but in actuallity isn’t.

I have a weird sound when I use distortion on my guitar?

January 262010

Whenever I use distortion on my amp, I have this bad ear hurting ringing sound and echoes whenever I play a string that make my music sound bad. Do I need a better amp? Or is there any ways to fix it?

it’s probably feedback don’t get so close to your amp
